This Is Not a Document From the Epstein Files Discussing a World War III

Date:

Social media users have recently shared an image claiming it is part of newly released documents published by the U.S. Department of Justice in the Jeffrey Epstein case. The image allegedly shows an email sent by a person identified as James Heywood to Jeffrey Epstein, titled “Potential (Nuclear) Investment Opportunity,” referring to the need to “discuss World War III” and suggesting that investors were seeking to decide whether to proceed with planning it on Feb. 8, 2026.

Newssri’s team at Al Araby TV investigated the circulating claim and found it to be fake. The image is fabricated and does not show an email sent by James Heywood to Jeffrey Epstein about planning World War III on Feb. 8, 2026.

The Epstein Files Did Not Mention World War III

A search of the documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice in the Jeffrey Epstein case, using keywords related to the sender and the alleged email date, found no email matching the circulated content.

However, searching for the sender’s name, “James Heywood,” led to a genuine email document published on the Department of Justice website. Some of its elements match those in the circulated image, including the sender and recipient identities, the email subject line, the classification number shown in the lower-right corner, and portions of the email text.

The original message, however, does not include any reference to the need to “discuss World War III,” nor does it mention investors awaiting a decision to proceed with planning such a scenario on Feb. 8, 2026. This indicates that the circulated image was fabricated using the authentic email.

The U.S. Department of Justice Releases New Epstein Files

Recently, the U.S. Department of Justice released a new batch of documents related to the Epstein case, revealing the names of prominent figures in politics, business, and entertainment. The release included images believed to show Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor leaning over an unidentified woman.

The documents were released pursuant to the File Transparency Act signed by U.S. President Donald Trump on Nov. 19, 2025. The files include more than 2,000 video clips and 180,000 images, bringing the total number of pages disclosed since the start of the release process to approximately 3.5 million.

The materials were compiled from five main sources, including criminal cases against Epstein in Florida and New York, the case against Ghislaine Maxwell, investigations into Epstein’s death, a Florida case involving the investigation of a former employee, and multiple probes conducted by the FBI and the Office of the Inspector General.

The Justice Department said the release followed clear guidelines aimed at protecting victims and their families, without redacting the names of prominent figures or politicians mentioned in the files. It also warned that the published files may include fake or misleading images or videos, as the disclosure encompassed all materials submitted by the public to the FBI in accordance with the law.
